Brett Rosenberg is a Nashville resident, a crafty, out-of-touch nerd who makes catchy, guitar-driven pop-rock music with weird, literalist, self-obsessed lyrics that are either funny, depressing, or embarassing. If you (or your readers) remember who Graham Parker is, then, well, he played guitar with Graham Parker from 2005-2007. He's 31, tail end of Generation X, if you're keeping score. His latest as-of-yet unreleased record, Ballad of Midnight Taco, is a collaboration with husband-wife Nashville duo The Joiners. Eric McConnell (who won a Grammy for recording the Jack White-produced Loretta Lynn comeback Van Lear Rose in his East Nashville home) produces. The result is a rocking art-pop record built around Brett's fiercely autobiographical folk songs.
